Designed by/for real life and real people, the Van Aken Jean offers a laid back, effortlessly cool midwest look. Created for those who value freedom of movement and comfort, without sacrificing style or quality. To see the Van Aken Jean in action, we teamed up with our friends at another local Ohio City staple, Cent’s Pizza + Goods.
We sat down with fellow midwest natives Vincent Morelli (Owner, Founder) + Varun Sharma (GM, Designer, Sommelier) of Cent's Pizza + Goods to learn more about how one of our favorite neighborhood spots came to life.
I moved to NYC in 2012 with plans to stay there. I lived there and worked as the production coordinator at 10 Deep for 6 years.
I began to conceptualize this idea of a lifestyle brand with a focus on food and retail in 2016. Cent's Pizza + Goods was born through natural progression, realization of my talents, and my interests.
I moved back to Cleveland to execute this Idea in 2018 and opened Cent's Pizza + Goods in 2021.

You see this a lot more often now it seems like every clothing store has a cafe in it.
Before this became the norm I realized the potential it had for retail stores to get more customers in the door but it also proves retail is hurting and looking for supplemental income/customers.
Cent's is kind of the opposite of that; where the food and beverage aspect is in the forefront and the retail product helps round out the picture and the identity of the brand.
